Our Elkin Senior Wapiti Shooting Team competed in the North Carolina Resource Commission State Tournament this past weekend.  The team consisted of Reece Hagwood, Connor Ball, Marshall Wells, Jaclyn Simmons, Mattie Wells, Noah Stuart, Blain Adams, Caleb Hemric, and Jaden Rasnick. 

The team received the results last night from the state tournament, and I would like to Congratulate the senior Wapiti team for bringing home the first North Carolina Youth Hunter Education Skills Tournament championship in Elkin history. The team finished 1st overall with a score 3676 out of a possible 4000

Reece Hagwood placed 1st overall with a  score of 761 and Connor Ball placed 2nd overall with a score of 751 for the State Tournament. 

The Rifle Team that consisted of Connor Ball, Jaclyn Simmons, Marshall Wells, Mattie Wells, and Reece Hagwood finished in 1st place with a score of 959.

Connor Ball placed 2nd individually in rifle with a score 194 and Jaclyn Simmons placed 3rd individually in rifle with a score 192.

The Archery Team that consisted of Connor Ball, Marshall Wells, Reece Hagwod, Mattie Wells, and Caleb Hemric finished 3rd with a score of 965

Connor Ball placed 1st individually in archery with a score of 199 and Marshall Wells placed 3rd individually in archery with a score of 198

The Shotgun Team that consisted of Reece Hagwood, Noah Stuart, Connor Ball, Blain Adams, and Jaden Rasnick finished 3rd with a score of 910

Reece Hagwood placed 1st individually in shotgun with a score of 200

 The Hunter Skills Team that consisted Reece Hagwood, Jaclyn Simmons, Noah Stuart, Connor Ball, and Marshall Wells finished 2nd with a score of 842
