National Beta State Convention allows students the opportunity to compete in various academic and STEM-based, virtual and performing arts competitions. This year, the State Convention was offered as a hybrid event. These victories at the state level provides an opportunity to compete at the national level. The National Convention will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee during Summer 2022.

The Elkin High School Beta Club was founded in 2017 and currently has 120 members. We had 51 students attend the convention in-person and 5 students who competed virtually. We competed in 17 individual academic competitions, 18 creative arts competitions, 7 group competitions, and 2 performing art performances with Beta Clubs all across the state. “BETA club provides opportunities for students to showcase their talents beyond the classroom and helps our students grow in character and leadership. I am extremely proud of all our BETA members who competed at the state convention, they represented the Elkin community well,” says EHS BETA sponsor Kerri Mullis.

With more than 500,000 active members and 8,750 clubs nationally and internationally, National Beta has become the nation’s largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. National Beta promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. National Junior Beta includes grades 4-8 and National Senior Beta includes grades 9-12. Visit betaclub.org for more information.
