good morning play high school I'm the lead against Miller in this is my Coho social Hernandez hoping for sunshine this weekend Elena and Mary have our weather forecast every day is going to have a Highway 82 and a low of 60 partly cloudy while I have a hive 82 in love with 60 mostly sunny now back to anchors art spot like Kristen and Lauren Bryant painted beautiful fruits and vegetables on the Chalkville Club Garden over summer break their artwork reflects some of the produce grown this summer eaten by students or shared or the Tri-C Food Bank parapet Spotlight sophomore Emily marcial has welcomed the special addition to her family that's beautiful call at 9 going to Emily's horse over summer break that's right horses are pets too and we would love to see your pet here on broadcast just in the photo and description them is soiree it was a busy summer as several new staff members join us as Elkin when is staff member who will be very important to us is Miss Kary Mullis our new guidance counselor in this clip she tells us a little bit about herself good morning my name is Kary Mullis and I'm the new school counselor be able to tell you a few things about myself I received my bachelor's in psychology from UNC Charlotte I also received my master's degree in School counseling at UNC Pembroke now for 4 years mostly at the elementary level last year I worked at a small Elementary School called Woodleaf Elementary in Rowan County I wanted to come to Elkin because I knew that Elkin was an exceptional school system and I wanted to come help my greatest challenge in life I believe would be being a mom I have 3 boys and so being a mom with 3 boys is sometimes challenging a difficult something that I want to accomplish rhyme here how can I want to build relationships with all the students I want the status to know that I am here for them that if they are going through something and then I need help the need to speak to someone that I am here and I'm also here to help them make future plans College Community College whatever those plans maybe I want to help them and advise them through that I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you I hope you have a great day thank you Miss Mullis another news in National Honor Society is accepting donations of supplies to help survivors of hurricane Harvey seen here in HS president Brandy Fuentes supervises the donations smart breakfast recently a society advisor Acres how the donation Drive is going the National Honor Society is not the only active Club on our campus each week we will highlight another club so that you may see the good work and Service Ride by So Many students if you have not join the club yet this is a good year to try one out being active in a club and holding a leadership position looks great on a resume or applications for college and scholarships and now the segment you have missed all summer trivia time hello all you beautiful people out there I bet you weren't expecting me back too bad for you because it's the last year now then rule this week all of you sciency people I'm talking to you my super I'm talking to you Miss Macomb who else was there now that I'm an insect and the part of my name spells another insects name what am I play some minutes are in the box outside Miss Suarez room in order to join for another five. from Sheetz and the winner will be announced in next week's broadcast but for now back to your right there's thank you Harry and I'm coming since the week before homecoming September 25th through 29th is spirit week you might have seen the advertisements were posted around the school senior Griffin wheeler it's all about
