Per District policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) student records are only available to those who have authorization from the student or parent, guardian or responsible person if the student is less than 18 years of age. If the student is 18 years of age or older, school records will not be released to a parent, guardian, or responsible person without the student’s written consent

Update of Student Records

Please email me with any address or phone number changes for your student.  Please always include the name and relationship of the parent(s)/guardian(s) with whom the student lives and especially if that information has recently changed. Any person picking up a student must be on the Student Verification Form with permission to pick up.

Attendance
Students are required to bring written notes from parents/guardians or physician stating the reason for an absence or tardy.  Students have three school days to present a note to the office after being absent/tardy.  Any tardy or absence without a note will automatically be counted as unexcused.  All written notes will be retained in the office.  Acceptable reasons for absences that may be excused are (as defined by NC):
  • personal illness or injury
  • quarantine or isolation
  • death in the immediate family
  • medical or dental appointment
  • court or administrative proceedings
  • religious observance
  • educational opportunity - Must be approved by the principal at least 1 week in advance of the trip or it will be unexcused.
